  • New Hungarian Genealogy & P.O.W. links:  I was very excited to come across this site, which had a multitude of links for those interested in genealogy.  Especially links to census, immigration, passenger manifests and forms to download in requesting information from various state, county, district and government organizations.  Index’s, volume, petition and soundex numbers are provided. Great advantage when narrowing down details needed to request copies of records.
  • Another asset to this site is the built-in translator, for translating names so they can be searched much easier.  In the section on Russia/P.O.W.’s and the Russian Front databases, it is just a matter of writing the name in English, then copying and pasting the translated version to the search engine.  This can provide the researcher with data on names (first and last), date of birth, place of birth, place of draft, rank, place of burial, and source info., etc.  One-Step Webpages by Steve Morse  This is a MUST visit website!!  For source information on P.O.W.’s & forced labor camps in Russia the direct link is:  Memorial International

Excuse me? Did I miss something here? A little lost!

    • magyarok27 says:

(carefully wording my thoughts before I write)…(1) I really have no idea how long you have been blogging, I started a few months ago (May). (2) Do not understand the reference to “freebies.” (3) I’m responding out of common courtesy because I sent out a notice a week ago, stating I’m going on vacation and have “scheduled” posts in advance. If I have offended you in some way, you are more then welcome to un-follow. (shrugs)

  2. Much great information here, thanks for all the links!
